It's slipcover season. Here's everything you need to know.
It's slipcover season. Here's everything you need to know.

‘Tis the season…not for Christmas but for Slipcovers! While in our stores all year round, we see an increase in demand once the days are longer and windows are open again. Their comfort, relaxed style, and ease of care are perfect for summer homes. Here’s how you can decide if they are a good choice for you.
Why choose slipcovers?
You want white or light. White furniture looks great, but unless you’re going to put a “do not sit on this” sign, it will likely get stained at some point. A new pair of jeans might leave behind a little blue stain, or a glass of wine could get spilled. With a slipcover, cleaning these mishaps can be much easier.
You like to change your look. It’s a lot faster, easier, and less expensive to switch out a slipcover than to buy a new piece of furniture. We have a variety of slipcover-only options for purchase to give your space a new look however often you like.
You have kids or pets. Slipcovers can bounce back easily from the mayhem that comes from children or animals (on your furniture). Dirt can be washed off and, if there is more troubling damage, you can order new slipcovers without replacing the entire piece.
You prefer a casual, comfortable look. Our slipcovers are fitted specifically for the furniture frame, so they deliver a relaxed appearance without looking sloppy.
Slipcover tips & tricks
Washing - We recommend washing all pieces at the same time to prevent potential discoloring. After washing, you should put slipcovers back on the furniture while slightly damp to finish drying. The zippers on a slipcover are ok to be laundered and many of our frames have Velcro strips sewn at strategic locations to allow you to reposition and tighten certain areas of the slip.
Prewashed - We have a fantastic selection of Pre-Washed fabrics, usually cottons, that work best for slipcovers. By washing the fabric before fabrication, it preshrinks it so that you have the best possible draping and fit.
Performance- Sunbrella and other performance fabrics are fantastic options for your full sun room or porch to prevent sun damage and fading.
